Biography:
Alison Walgama, M.D., is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine. She and her husband Jonathan have four children and moved back to East Texas in 2015. She is from New Boston, TX. Dr. Walgama received her undergraduate degree from Austin College in Sherman, TX. She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center in 2009. She graduated high school from New Boston, TX. She completed her residency in Family Medicine in 2012 at the McClennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Waco, TX. She received the most compassionate physician award and the award for excellence in teaching upon residency graduation.
Dr. Walgama has professional associations with the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians where she remains in good standing and actively participates in annual meetings and conferences. She enjoys teaching and has been involved in the education of numerous medical students and nurse practitioners through the years.
Before moving to Longview, Dr. Walgama enjoyed working in the heart of Oklahoma City providing medical care for underserved populations. She continues to do the same in Longview at her current practice. She enjoys getting to know patients and their families and taking care of chronic, complex health issues. Dr. Walgama has special interest in mental health care and end of life care.
She and her family enjoy traveling, being outside, participating in sporting activities, and spending time with family.
