Biography:

Leigh Barr, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She joined Diagnostic Clinic of Longview’s Family Medicine Practice in November 2015. Leigh began her career in healthcare 21 years ago at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where she also earned her nursing degree. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Tyler, where she completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors.

She has professional associations with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association, and the East Texas Nurse Practitioner’s Association.

She enjoys providing family-centered healthcare to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice encompasses diagnosis and management of common and complex healthcare problems, with special interest in preventative health care, women’s health, and mental health. She seeks to acquire a comprehensive evaluation of every patient by taking time to listen and understand their particular needs. She wants to make a lasting and trusting relationship with all of her patients. Leigh and her husband have three sons, ages 27, 25, and 14. She has served the Longview community through volunteering with Pine Tree ISD, helping local BSA activities, and playing alto saxophone for the East Texas Symphonic Band. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, quilting, and caring for her two Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Howard and Bernadette.
